A Squirrel is a small mammal, with homes across the globe. Squirrels are typically only 7 to 10 centimeters in height, and weigh about 10 grams. They prefer mature deciduous woodland but are also common in parks and gardens in towns and cities.
Hazelnuts, acorns, beech mast, tree bark, fungi, buds, leaves, shoots, flowers, bird eggs, and bird hatchlings make up their diet.
- Squirrels are noted for hiding nuts before winter, and being able to find them all in spring.
